The Forestry Commission has inaugurated an audit committee to see to the improvement in the operational systems of the commission.

Present at the ceremony were the deputy minister for Minerals lands and Natural resources, Hon. Benito Owusu Bio, The CE of the Forestry Commission, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, EMT members, Director General of the Internal Audit agency, Corporate Affairs and Media Relations Manager, Mrs. Joyce Ofori Kwafo and other FC staff.

The primary responsibility of the newly inducted Audit committee is to strengthen the control systems of the Forestry Commission by demanding accountability with respect to the implementations of audit recommendations whiles at the same time strengthening the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal audit unit all geared towards fulfilling the objectives of the public management Act 2016 [Act 92 1].

The Audit Committee members include; Hon. Henry Kwabena Kokofu (Esq.), Mr. Issifu Sulemana, Mr. Edward Fiawoyipe, Ms. Rita Anowuoh and Mr. Jonathan Ocansey. In addition, the following three members of the FC Executive Management Team (EMT) are hereby submitted to the Audit Committee for consideration to serve as Co-opted members; Mr. Elisha Asiedu-Amponsah, Lawyer Dennis Osei-Hwere, Mr. Cudjoe Awudi.
